Two and a half hours up the highway takes you into Hunza proper. We send guests to Baltit Fort in the morning, lunch in Karimabad, and Attabad lake on the way back for the light.
Before you go
Carry more water than you think you need — the air is very dry.
Sun at altitude is fierce even when it is cold. Hat and sunscreen.
Layers. Mornings can be near freezing and afternoons warm.
Signal is patchy. Tell reception your plan before you leave.
Weather decides. We will tell you honestly the evening before if
conditions mean a trip is not worth doing. Nothing is charged if we call it off.
