Welcome

The stop people plan their trip around

Most travellers pass through Jaglot without stopping. The ones who do stop tend to stay longer than they meant to.

We are a twenty-three room hotel run by one family since 2014, sitting where the Karakoram Highway bends towards the Indus. On a clear morning the Rakhiot face of Nanga Parbat fills the windows on the mountain side of the building. There is no spa, no pool and no lobby pianist. There is a good bed, a hot shower that stays hot, fast internet, food cooked by people who eat it themselves, and staff who will tell you honestly whether today is a good day to drive to Fairy Meadows.

Photographer's dream

Shot sunrise from the window three mornings running without leaving the room. The full-height glass makes an enormous difference.

Beyond expectations

We arrived late after a landslide delay and they had kept dinner warm for us without being asked. That is the kind of thing you remember.

Exceptional hospitality

I have travelled the Karakoram Highway three times and this is the best stop I have found. The manager arranged a jeep to Fairy Meadows within an hour of my asking.
